Mission

To provide prevention education and testing to the Central Ohio minority community as it is related to HIV/AIDS and other health disparities.

Organization Objectives

  • To engage in educational and developmental activities within the Columbus, Ohio African-American community related to HIV prevention
  • To serve as role models to those within and around the community by providing health awareness programs, presentations, publications, research, seminars, and distribution of information to citizens and professionals
  • To provide education related to diversity, health issues, homophobia, and the demographics of the Central Ohio targeted population
  • To provide testing for HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases

  • The Mpowerment Project
  • HIV Prevention Education Workshops
  • HIV/STD Speaker’s Bureau
  • HIV/STD Testing, Counseling, and Referral
  • Columbus Health Department Syphilis Elimination Program (SEP)
  • Bi-Monthly Luncheons/HIV Presentations
  • Various Social Activities and Functions
  • Condom Raids and Condom Distribution at area Bars and Nightclubs
  • Collaboration with Multiple Columbus Area Community Agencies
