Executive Director

Eddie Jones, Jr.

As Executive Director of the Tobias Project Inc, Eddie Jones has taken the lead in providing prevention education to the African American community as it relates to HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases in Columbus and beyond. In addition to his leadership duties, he also serves on the executive board of the People of Color Wellness Coalition and is co-chair of the Columbus Regional Advisory Group.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Eddie is a graduate of Jacksonville University and attended graduate school at the Universty of Michigan. As a former educator, he is also a certified American Red Cross HIV/AIDS instructor, continuing to instruct and inform the community about facts and myths of heal issues that effect us all, specifically within the African American population.

Eddie is a former commissioner of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and still serves as an independent contract mediator, drawing from over 25 years experience in dispute resolution and working with private companies and public employers in resolving contract disputes, employment issues, and in the traiing of both labor and mangement in alternative dispute resolution.

Project Director

Preston Mitchell

Preston F. Mitchell has taken the position of Project Director of The Tobias Project, Inc. to educate the African American community as it relates to the realities of sexually transmitted diseases.

Born in West Virginia, Preston attended Point Park College in Pittsburg, PA. studying government and international studies. Preston also recieved a Associates degree in 1989 from Western School of Business in Pittsburg PA. Former President of B.A.S.I.C.S. and African American Consortium to help minorities in the struggle for higher education.

Preston brings over 15 years of professional work experience working with the public and educating the community on various areas of opportunity. Mitchell is also a member of the Community Regional Advisory Group, a group to educate providers and clients on new technology prevention and treatment. With this knowledge Mitchell seeks to inform the community on the latest developments in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Trained through the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus, Mr. Mitchell is a certified African American and Basic HIV instructor.

Preston currently holds the position of Co-Chair of The Ohio State University HIV Adult Clinical Trials Community Advisory Group
